Day 1: Hong Kong-Kunming
Welcome to Kunming. Upon your arrival, our representative will meet you at the airport, and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own for you to relax and prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Kunming-Dali
Kunming is well known for its beautiful and peculiar, breathtaking and unique natural landscape. The city is nicknamed "City of Spring" due to the fact that it is covered all the year round with the rich verdure of trees and plants. After breakfast we begin our day tour to the [Stone Forest]. Due to a process of weathering and erosion, nature has created an art gallery of stone sculpture here. This typical karst physiognomy takes the form of a forest of stone pillars and boulders. It is as if the countless stone shapes have sprung from the ground, assuming different shapes as if vying to surpass each other in grandeur and sublime beauty. Later this afternoon we drive to Kunming Train Stain to catch an overnight train to Dali after dinner.

Day 3: Dali
You are picked up by your guide at Dali Train Station in the morning, transferred to your hotel in the Old Town. The rest time in the morning will be on your own. After lunch, we set out to visit a typical sight of Dali-the [Three Pagoda Temple]. As its name implies, Three Pagodas are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle. This is unique in China. And they are one of the most significant and majestic wonders in Dali and look magnificent. Dinner is recommended at a local restaurant, where you can try some traditional foods.

Day 4: Dali-Lijiang
This morning we depart for Lijiang by private car, van or bus after lunch. It is roughly a 3.5 hours drive. The beautiful scenery on the way will surely give you some special feeling, and we may stop on the way for you to relax and take some photos. You will arrive in Lijiang before dinner time.

Day 5: Lijiang
Lijiang is an ancient town with unique architectural styles and people there still hold on their original way of living. This morning we go to the [Jade Dragon Snow-capped Mountain]. With skyscraping snow-capped peaks and its imposing body, it reflects in the interlaced rivers flowing under the old town, composing a fabulous picture. Viewed from afar, the snow-capped range resembles a silver dragon with snow curling up its middle. Rich forest, herb and animal resources thrive on the mountain and a giant tram cart up here is one of the highest of its kind in China. We take cables to climb the mountain and be intoxicated in the picturesque scenery.

Day 6: Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge
Depart for [Tiger Leaping Gorge] by private car, van or bus after breakfast. You'll have lunch at Qiaotou Town on the way before trekking. Head on to TLG and go straight to our first guest house.

Day 7: Tiger Leaping Gorge
Relax in the morning and enjoy the view before we take the high trail to our second guest house. Wedged tightly between steep cliffs, the Tiger Leaping Gorge is a well-known gorge of Yangzi River,where the river is so narrow here. As described in legend, a hunted tiger made his escape to the other side in a single bound. The whole day is just over three hours walk.

Day 8: Tiger Leaping Gorge-Zhongdian
Walk out from the Tiger Leaping Gorge before lunch time. After lunch in Qiaotou Town, we continue our trip to Zhongdian – the town now officially recognized as "Shangri-La". This is actually the old Tibetan Province of Kham and was used as a winter grazing area for the livestock. The surrounding countryside is much as it always has been, preserving mysterious and ancient atmosphere. Eventually we arrive at Zhongdian before dinner time.

Day 9: Zhongdian
Join us today to visit [Songzanlin Monastery], a famous Tibetan style Buddhist temple in China. Tourists are attracted to this scenic spot where they can enjoy the view and be lucky to take photos of girls wearing exquisite Tibetan costumes holding perfectly white fluffy lambs against the imposing mountains and blue sky. [Visit the old part of the town, a Tibetan family visiting] is included as well. The Tibetan built their houses in distinctive religious styles influenced by Buddhism. You can taste Tibetan specialties of yak butter tea, local yogurt and Tibetan barley. Later this afternoon is on your own to walk around. We suggest you get a feeling of local people's daily life by visit the local market.

Day 10: Zhongdian-Kunming-Guilin
Take a morning flight back to Kunming. In the afternoon, catch another flight to Guilin.

Day 11: Guilin-Yangshuo-Guilin
This morning we embark the ship for [Li River cruise]. Cruising upriver with a pleasant breeze greeting, you can sit on cushion comfortably or enjoy the open-air viewing platform. Bring lots of film because this is a photographer's dream, where you are able to capture the dramatic landscapes that Chinese artists have been painting for centuries. Lunch will be served onboard. Enjoy the Li River picturesque scenery to Yangshuo, Later the day we drive back to Guilin.

Day 12: Guilin
Spend the day in Guilin to discover its shinning scenic spots that make the city unique and especially beautiful. The [Elephant Trunk Hill] is the symbol of Guilin, standing in the Li River and looks like an elephant drinking water from the river. The [Reed Flute Cave] is one of the most spectacular caves displaying karst geographical formation in various shapes. After the visit, we will continue to the nearby [South China Sea Pearl Museum], where we can learn some knowledge of pearls and have the chance to purchase real sea pearl at competitive prices. Enjoy a free afternoon, getting prepared for the next day's two jointing flights.

Day 13: Guilin-Shenzhen (or Guangzhou)-Yichang-Yangtze Cruise
It will be a flying day. Due to the fact that there is no direct flight from Guilin to Yichang, we catch a flight from Guilin to Shenzhen, and then another flight to Yichang. We're going to get aboard on our Yangtze cruise boat pretty late at night. But we have enough time to get recovered on the comfortable boat.

Day 14: Yangtze
We will get off for a shore excursion to the [Three Gorges Dam] project to see one of the most massive projects that China launched in between two centuries. By the evening we will have passed through two of the gorges, Xiling and Wu gorge. Xiling Gorge is renowned for being extremely perilous as well as the longest of the Yangtze's.

Day 15: Yangtze
Today's shore excursion is to a [tributary to the Yangtze], seeing waterfalls, monkeys and suspended coffins. Throughout the day you will pass various sights of significance with a local guide pointing out and explaining the old Chinese stories. Maybe one of the most notable aspects, are the sighs that show where the water will rise when the project is complete.

Day 16: Yangtze
The stop today is Fengdu or Zhongxian. You have the opportunity to see the [Ghost City] or the [Rock Fort] (Shibaozhai). Fengdu is indeed the ghost city because lots of ghost statues are on display. Shibaozhai is simply a rectangular rock with steep cliffs on the riverside.It is over 30 meters high with a temple on top. People can climb to the top of the pagoda and take some pictures of the grand sight.

Day 17: Yangtze-Chongqing-Dazu
We get disembarked in Chongqing after our breakfast on aboard. Drive through the hilly but large city to Dazu, a small county town about three-hour drive to the north of Chongqing. We see the famous large sleeping Buddha at [Baodingshan] in the afternoon. The [Sleeping Buddha] is grand and imposing which fully shows the extraordinary talent and skill of ancient artists.

Day 18: Dazu-Chengdu
After breakfast we will head to Chengdu by public bus. We want you to get an experience of sharing a local public bus with local Chinese instead of taking a tourist bus. We can get there in the early afternoon. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the afternoon will be your own. Taking a walk to Tianfu Square to see Chairman Mao's marble statue, hiring a traditional Chinese rickshaw to go to People's Park, having a sip of Chinese green tea in the tea house there are all nice options. A hotpot dinner will let you know what real Sichuan spicy food is.

Day 19: Chengdu-Leshan-Chengdu
You have a whole-day tour to Leshan, a city about 120 kilometers to the south of Chengdu, to see the [largest sitting Buddha] in the world. The Buddha was carved out of the cliff with a height of more than 70metrs and has been well preserved for more than a thousand years. It's worth making a trip to Leshan that offers a pleasant picture consisted of ancient Chinese culture and nature beauty. Today's dinner could be some traditional Sichuan food that most of you must have heard about, such as Chicken with Peanut (Gong bao ji ding) and Spicy Bean Curd (Ma po dou fu).

Day 20: Chengdu-Overnight Train to Xi'an
We depart by private bus to [Chengdu Giant Panda Researching and Breeding Base]. As one of the world's most endangered species, the cute black and white bear will bring you great fun. Later the day we board an overnight train for Xi'an in the afternoon.

Day 22: Xi'an
With a history of more than 3,000 years, Xi'an has abundant collection of archaeological relies to express its rich history. This morning we go to visit [Banpo Museum], where you can see lots of precious unearthed cultural relics and artworks, indicating the prehistoric civilization. Situated east of Xi'an city, the [Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum] is famous throughout the world for life-sized terra-cotta warriors and horses. The three pits of the terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated shows you how magnificent the structure of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum was. Later this evening you may choose local special Dumpling Dinner and the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Day 23: Xi'an-Shanghai
Visit the [City Wall] and then the [Provincial Museum], a striking Tang-Dynasty style pavilion, houses a large collection of 113,000 historic and cultural artifacts unearthed in Shaanxi. Also include is a visit to the [Big Wild Goose Pagoda]- one of the city's most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today. Then we take a pm flight to Shanghai.

Day 24: Shanghai
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and we go to visit the [Yuyuan Garden], where you find more delicate handicrafts and tasty Chinese snacks. Also include a visit to the [Jade Buddha Temple], an elegant structure famous for its Buddha statue which is carved of solid white jade and decorated by jewels. Lunch is arranged at a characteristic Shanghai restaurant. After lunch our guide takes you to the [Outer Bund], for a grand view of Shanghai and you may marvel at how modern this metropolis is while still containing its old traditions. Enjoy a walk on the [Nanjing Road], the most prosperous commercial street.

Day 25: Shanghai-Beijing
This morning we discover more about Shanghai, visit the [Children's Palace] (when in session), there you may see children playing music instruments or dancing. After lunch we drive to the airport for a pm flight to Beijing.

Day 26: Beijing
After breakfast, join us for a visit to the [Temple of Heaven], which is a complex of buildings, gardens, and pathways, its organization indicates relationship between Earth and heaven. Enjoy a walk on the [Tian'anmen Square]- one of the largest city squares in the world. It is located on the central axis of old Beijing. In the center of Tiananmen Square stands the Monument to the People's Heroes. Then we go to the [Forbidden City]- Imperial palaces for the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The city contains 800 ceremonial buildings, 9,999 rooms, and a courtyard that can hold 100,000 people. Best ancient Chinese architectural styles are well preserved here, consist an imposing view. Later the day is on your own to explore more about this city.

Day 27: Beijing
This morning we drive to the [Jinshanling Great Wall], the less developed and commercial section of the Wall. This historic construction is somewhat dangerous to climb because it winds up and down the precipitous ranges, but as a reward, splendid views are available. People say that a visit to Beijing isn't complete without trying the crispy and tasty Peking duck dinner, so we recommend a featured dinner for you at one famous restaurant.

Day 28: Beijing
This morning we go to visit the [Summer Palace] - one of China's architectural masterpieces. The beauty of the Summer Palace is deliberated. The pavilions, kiosks, terraces, bridges, dikes, corridors are delicately crafted and placed, well displaying the thousand-year old Chinese landscape gardening. The scenic spots contain a nation's profound philosophical and aesthetic tradition. Followed by a walk to [Hutong]- meaning alleys, derives from the narrow lanes created by the walled residential compounds built one on top of the other in these cramped districts. The high walls surround the traditional siheyuan quadrangle, made up of four, single-story buildings fronting a courtyard. Hutongs take their names from the groups who live within, for instance, the Bowstring Makers' Lane, or if populated by a single family, their surname. Unfortunately, encroaching urban development now threatens hutongs.
