Today we take a flight to Guilin from Shanghai. Upon your arrival, our guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Today we will visit The [Longji Terraced Rice Paddies] in Ping’an Zhuang minority village that is located in Longsheng County. There you will have the chance to take some wonderful pictures of minority people wearing exquisite costumes. The Longji Rice Terraces is a beautiful natural picture. The linked together rice terraces vary from season to season. For example, in spring, the water is irrigated into the fields and the terraces look like great chains or ribbons hung on the hillsides. When it is summer, green waves rush continuously down the mountainside from the heaven. The theme of autumn is the harvest, with the mountainside decorated with the gold of ripened millet. Before the Terraced Rice Paddies, we will stop to visit [Huangluo Red Yao minority village]. There every Yao woman has a beautiful long black hair on her head. The long hair of most of women can be loosened down to the ground. The longest hair is nearly close to 2 meters.

The morning time is free for you to explore this charming and mysterious Zhuang village yourself. After lunch we will leave the village and drive to the local market to see daily life of people and explore more exciting things. Then we drive to Guilin city (about 2 hour drive).

Today we will start the [Li River cruise]. Cruising downstream with a pleasant breeze greeting your face, you can sit on cushion comfortably or enjoy the open-air viewing platform. Li River symbolizes the Guilin area, as this picturesque river is a major component of Guilin scenery. As it sparkles in the sunlight, the river meanders through lush mountains like a liquid jade belt. It is the opportunity to observe the daily activities of local people. During the journey, you can see the farmers working at the rice paddies. Fishermen glide on narrow bamboo rafts. Some of them have their working bird cormorant help catching fish. Duck herders watch over their flocks. When we arrive in Yangsghuo, we will take a walk in West Street, which has received countless foreigners from all over the world and reputed as "Global Village in China". There are over 300 cafes, restaurants, hotels art crafts and tourist stores, foreign language clubs, internet centers and Kungfu schools along the 600 meters long street.  

This afternoon you are free at leisure, you can enjoy a coffee time at the West Street, or walk around the small Yangshuo town.

In the morning, we will drive back to Guilin city to spend the rest of the day in Guilin to discover its shinning scenic spots that make the city unique and especially beautiful. Its scenery is reputed by many Chinese to be the "finest under heaven", or directly from Chinese: "the mountains and rivers in Guilin are the number one under the heaven." So we will go to visit the [Elephant Trunk Hill] first. It is the symbol of Guilin, and it look like an elephant standing in the Li River and drinking water from the river. Then we will go to visit the [Reed Flute Cave], one of the most spectacular caves displaying karst geographical formation in various shapes. After the visit, we will continue to the nearby [South China Sea Pearl Museum], where we can learn some knowledge of pearls and have the chance to purchase real sea pearl at competitive prices.

After dinner, you can walk around Rong Huto experience the unique Charming of Guilin at night. The water fountains at the surface of the lake come alive for a wonderful water show. Using variable levels of water pressure and colored lights, accompanied by some lovely pieces of music, the water fountains can provide a delightful fantasia for the senses. It's not quite to the level of the Bellagio water show in Las Vegas, but it makes for a pleasant and romantic evening.

Today is on your own to relax until you are ready to be transferred to the airport for a flight back to Shanghai.
