In a vast country like China, getting into the remote areas can be quite challenge and some modes of transport were more unorthodox than others. This is an account of our adventure jounery.
Take our journey to tibet for example.
We wanted to adventrue Mount Kailash, one of the most sacred sites in the world. Every year around June, there is the Saga Dawa Festival when thousands of pilgrams try and make the jouney there.
We decided it would be an interesting story to adventure, but it’s no mean feat trying to get there. Now, from the Lhasa the roads are paved, but quite soon after that, within half a day, the roads run out and you then remain on dirt tracks which gets progressively more and more hairy.
As we were driving down a mountain pass, one of the drivers lost control of his vehicle and rolled it with six people on board. So any trip in tibet is not to be taken lightly, but it's really worth a try.
