Getting There

By Air
Xian Xianyang International Airport (XIY) is located 30 miles northwest from the downtown. Over 150 international and domestic airlines connect Xian with other 74 domestic cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Harbin, Kunming, Lhasa, Shanghai, Urumqi, Wuhan, Hong Kong and Taipei, etc, as well as foreign countries, such as Nagoya, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Fukuoka in Japan, Seoul in South Korea and Singapore.

How to go to the airport:
1. The airport shuttle bus runs from the Aviation Building every 30 minutes (6am-6pm) at a cost of CNY 25. It will cost one hour to the airport.
2. Take a taxi to the airport at a cost of CNY100-120 from the airport to the downtown (Bell Tower).

By Train
There are two passenger railway stations in the city: Xian Railway Station and North Railway Station. Xian Railway Station, located at the north end of Jiefang Road, is the largest railroad junction in West China. As a train station with modern facilities, more than 37 trains start from Xian while 34 trains pass by with an annual capacity of handling over 10.5 million passengers every year. 13 lines have been electronized in Shaanxi Province measuring 795 miles totally. Besides, the railroad network has connected Xian with all major cities and train’s speed has been lifted recently. The North Railway Station was put into operation in January, 2011. The bullet trains to / from Beijing, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Wuhan and Guangzhou etc. are operated here.

Notes: In order to get the ticket successfully, we advise that it is better for you to make reservations five days in advance or even ten days in advance during China's golden weeks and Spring Festival. Many star hotels and travel service offices offer booking service and the service fee will cost CNY20 to CNY50 per ticket.

There are 4 classes on the train: soft berth, hard sleeper, soft seat and hard seat. The prices are lowered accordingly. We suggest that it is better to buy the tickets of soft berth because soft berth is more comfortable, quieter and safer.

How to get to the station:
1. By public buses. They can be found easily on every main street.
2. By taxi. It will take you less than 30 minutes in the normal traffic time.
