Daocheng Yading is located in southwestern Sichuan province, connected to the qinghai-tibet plateau and Hengduan mountains, about 860 kilometers from Chengdu. It is known as the soul of Shangri-la and the last Shangri-la for its unique landform and original natural landscape. Many international friends came to this mysterious land for exploration and photography. They found Daocheng Yading to be a truly amazing idylic place and called it the last pure land on our blue planet. MAB was listed by UNESCO in 2003.

A picturesque natural landscape. Daocheng Yading’s most distinctive natural scenery makes it worthy of its nickname — a photographer’s paradise. In addition to the three holy mountains covered with perpetual snow, vast meadows, colorful forests and bright blue lakes create an Eden away from the hustle and bustle and the outside world. In autumn, Daocheng Yading will become a fascinating painting in shades of red, orange and yellow, making this season the most popular.

Visiting Daocheng Yading is a visual feast. Religion and culture. In Daocheng Yading, there are many temples, such as Gongga langjiling temple, Bangpu temple, Xiongdeng temple and so on, which have a long history of hundreds of years. It is also rich in religious sects, most notably the nymphs and the kagyu sects. Most of the temples are located in quiet places, and few people come. You can see old buildings, beautiful Buddha statues and elegant murals. Listening to the chanting of monks helps purify our restless souls. During the festival, local families will worship buddhists and offer butter lamps and other food for prayer.

Daocheng Yading bears an Alpine Climate of monsoon types with a longer winter, shorter summer and great day-night temperature difference. The best time to visit Daocheng Yading is April, May, September and October. From April to May, the flowers of sorts are in their full bloom and the sacred mountains are more splendid and bright. From September to October, Daocheng Yading is a multicolored sea.
