D1: Arrive in Chengdu

Upon your arrival in Chengdu, our CET reps will meet you, transfer you to your hotel, and check-in. We can walk around Hejiang Pavillion near the Jinjiang River if time permits. Enjoy our welcoming dinner followed by a tour introduction and instruction meeting, at the hotel or somewhere nearby.

D2: Chengdu – Dujiangyan City

Today we depart downtown Chengdu and head for one of the satellite cities of Chengdu named Dujiangyan. On route we will pay a visit to [Sichuan Cuisine Museum], as which name suggests, a facility dedicated to preserving and showcasing Sichuan-styled cuisine. We will participate in a cooking session allowing you to make your own Sichuan cuisine for lunch.
In the afternoon our tour continues to [Dujiangyan Irrigation Project], a UNESCO-listed world heritage. We will walk for about 3 hours along the Songpan-Maoxian ancient pass to enter the 2000-year-old project.

Day 3: Dujiangyan - Mt. Qingcheng - Dujiangyan

Our tour continues in Dujiangyan area today. We will go to [Panda base] and take part in [a panda volunteer program]. We will walk into the enclosure of Panda with guidance of staff and [experience a half day work as Panda keeper].

In the afternoon, we will hike in [Mt.Qingcheng], a place considered the birthplace of Chinese Taoism. The hiking will take 3.5-4.5 hours. Hiking starts at 660m above sea level and finishes at 1220m.

Day 4: Dujiangyan city - Pingle Town

The bus will take us from Dujiangyan city to Shi Fangtang Hotel for hiking, and visit [the local market] on the way. The hiking route for today is about 14km. We will hike to [Pingle old town]. This small ancient town was vital in the ancient southern silk route. You will find many relics from Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Day 5: Pingle Town – E’mei City

Today we will take the bus to Jiaguan Town, the place where we will start our hiking(10km) to [Niunianping Tea Garden], then take the bus to Guoxi. Continue our hiking(13km) to Ming mountain. Hiking through fruit farms, tea plantations and cropland. We will be transferred to E’mei city by bus after hiking.

Day 6: E’mei City – Leshan City

We will spend most of the day exploring the [Mountain Emei]. [Cable car] and [shuttle bus] will take us to Leidongping station where we begin our hiking to the top. Leidongping station sits at 2430m and the summit is about 3077m above sea level. After the mountain, take our bus to Leshan City.

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 7: Leshan – Chengdu

Today we pay our visit to [Leshan Grand Buddha Statue by boat], a UNESCO listed world heritage site. You can also hike around the statue. Drive to Chengdu afterward. A farewell dinner together with a tour conclusion party is arranged in your hotel.

Day 8: Chengdu - Departure

Free at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

Dear Jessica,

My friend and I had a wonderful time trip in China. We were impressed with the quality of the hotels and food, and the knowledge of local tour guides.We learned so much about Chinese history and culture! Your guides were so patient and helpful in answering our questions and accommodating our special requests.

Our only suggestion would be to allow more free time in each of the cities like relaxing at a cafe to enjoy the atmosphere or strollin in the city street. On the other hand, there is so much to see, so we were glad that the itinerary was full.

We have already recommended your company to some of our friends. Your well-run service is worth of it.Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Our trip was great, really enjoyed it. Also, both Grace and Li Li (I can't remember her name sorry) were great hosts. The highlight was definitely the Li river trip. Also really enjoyed the visit to the little country village.We took some nice pictures and shared one with you.

Hi Monica.The tour went very well and as I said to Helen.we can never prepare a tour in China so we will be looking to another 4 or 5 cities to do next time with you help. lease note that what I say below is not critical but for you to give some thought to.

Beijing:Guide Rock was good in so much as picking us up and listening to what we asked of him in information. He could have been more forward in pointing out things of interest without us having to ask as I think that is his job and he should be constantly pointing out things of interest for but he spent majority of time talking to the driver (about what we do not know as it was Chinese)

Xian:Grace was very good and we learnt so much. The hotel was the best I have
been in for a long time. My previous 2 visits the hotels were in the centre and only average.

Guilin:Lizzie kept us informed and entertained. I think the rice fields tour should be included in your tours as they really enjoyed it.The better rice field tour I have been on twice was unavailable due to road works.
Shanghai:Guilie was good but could do a little more talking about matters of interest.I think one water town visit is enough as the 2nd is virtually the same as the first.There must be other items of interest in such a large city.

Hello CET, without a doubt Great Wall views & the Li River were the most memorable attractions. Someone told us that if you want to know modern china, go to Beijing and Shanghai; If you want to know ancient China, then go to Xi’an. We were very lucky to take this tour and visit these three cities of China. We appreciated your service during the trip, especially the guide who gave us an excellent explains of china’s histories and developments. Besides, everything in the tour was considerably managed by China Expedition Tours, so we could have a light heart sightseeing and knowledge learning around China. Thank you so much.
