Located on the Shenzhen Bay, the Miniature Scenic zone of Splendid China covers a total area of 300,000 m². The Xili Lake scenic spot is as adorable and beautiful as a paint, inside which the peaceful lake is reflecting the green mountain and the birds are chirping over the flowers. Dapeng Fortress, with a length of 1200 m and a height of 6 m, was built in the Ming Dynasty (1364-1644). The Dapeng fortress, with thousands of bluestone blocks, was of great strategic significance in the defense against the invasion of the Japanese pirates, which is where the abbreviation of Shenzhen, Pengcheng City, is derived from.

Covering a total area of 110,000 square meters, Dapeng Fortress is hailed as a huge fossil, from which you can learn a lot about Chinese history. Splendid ancient gate, the magnificent General mansion, folk houses with antique flavors, and old streets paved with stone plates are the well-preserved materials that can tell you the special culture and customs of itself.

The Dapeng Fortress Museum was established in the year 1996 with a view to managing and researching historical relics as well as boosting tourism. Later in 2001, the site was taken under state protection, a Good place for China Private Tours, and now it attracts international attention. In June 2004, a group of World Bank experts began researching the fortress to help with protection. Shenzhen is expected to obtain special loans from the World Bank for the protection of cultural relics if a report on the fortress is adopted in about two months.

With a 587-meter-high peak and more than 10 reservoirs surrounding, the picturesque Yangtai Mount has been enjoying the reputation as one of the Top Eight Sceneries in Shenzhen and the popularity among the tourists from near and far. Not matter it is sunny or rainy, Yangtai Mount will provide you a feast of eyes with the gorgeous and beautiful landscapes.

Falls flying around the Yangtai Mount like silver scarves are one of the most attractive parts, which make the peaceful mountain alive. Go along the winding stream from the foot of the hill for about 1 kilometer, you may be surprised by the sounds made by the rushing falls from the 10-meter cliff. At the sight of the white sprays splashing from the bottom of the falls, you will feel released and exciting. On Double Ninth Festival, the traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, the Yangtai Mountain is a customary place for local people to climb mountains, appreciate chrysanthemum flowers, drink chrysanthemum wine, and eat double-ninth cakes. This tradition can be dated back as early as the Warring States Period (475 BC-221 BC).

Built in 1925, Zhongshan Park is the park in Shenzhen that has experienced the longest history. Covering about 500,000 m², Zhongshan Park is designed with 14 scenic spots, both natural and artificial, which is a combination of the historic and modern flavors. Name after the Dr. Sun Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen), the Father of the Republic of China who advocates The Whole World as One Community, Zhongshan Park has the largest stone statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Around the splendid Status of Sun Yat-sen, there is a status group, among which status of the Chinese famous celebrities can be found.

Around the status group, you can enjoy a feast of eyes among the marvelous landscapes. Chung Ying Street, also called Sino-British Street, is a shopping paradise where only the people holding the permission pass issued by the Shenzhen Pubilc Security Bureau can enter. With a boundary tablets set in the center in the year 1898, Chung Ying Street is divided into two parts -- the Chinese and the British. After the return of Hong Kong on July 1, 1997, the street has become a historical phrase and a live relic.

Chung Ying Street has attracted a growing number of tourists by the special history and the huge variety of commodities in the featured stores. Lots of Hong Kong businessmen came here to cash in the market. Today, there are around 50 stores selling gold items, which have fashionable designs and reasonable prices. The duty-free products' affordable prices and refined quality make the street popular among travelers to Shenzhen. Since Shenzhen's rapid economic development, the street has gradually lost its former commercial glory. The government h repositioned it as a site of historical interest, incorporating shopping, sightseeing and entertainment. Its famous past as a shopping paradise will remain in the public memory, but the new Zhongying Street will be modernized and include features such as a tourist beach.

300-year-old well, 100-year-old banyans and the special museum with precious historic relics will be as attractive as the shinning shopping paradise.
