Zhujiajiao, known as "the Venice of Shanghai", is a very well-preserved ancient water town in the modern Shanghai.

Itinerary

Day 1: Shanghai-Zhujiajiao-Shanghai

After breakfast you will be met at your hotel and transferred to visit [Zhujiajiao]. Zhujiajiao is located in Qingpu County. It is 30 km far from Hongqiao International Airport. The golden waterways groove wear River town and that has convenient traffic and beautiful scenery, abundant natural resources. It is the most completely preservation of the Shanghai Jiangnan Water Town. Setting Free Bridge is a stone bridge built in the middle of Qing Dynasty. It is grandeur and symmetry, which is the landmark of Zhujiajiao Village. You may have a birds’ eye view of the village standing on the bridge. And after lunch you will take cruise on the river.

After the visit come back to Shanghai and the day tour ends when back to your hotel.

Hi, Monica.Thank you for your note. My tour in Beijing was excellent - Allen (Lu You) was a fantastic tour guide and I have only good things to say about him. Our driver was also very good.

In terms of improvements - I would have liked to have spent more time at the Summer Palace and in the Hutong, but we were on a tight schedule.

I would also suggest that tourists not visit the pearl market - the atmosphere was not very pleasant. However, the tea house and silk factory that we visited were very good.

I would recommend Allen as a tour guide to other tourists and would definitely return to the sights that I saw on this trip.

Hi, Monica, we just came back home and still in jetlag. We enjoyed our tour, the guide was very nice, his english was very good and the driver was also very nice. They were on time at the hotel. We enjoyed the lunch at the jade factory resturant. The food was very tasty , according to our liking. The only thing I would suggest that I wish some one had called us a day before at our hotel and confirm, because I tried to call the the phone # on the papers, but due to holiday no one answered. I was not sure if some one will show up in the morning. The adress you gave me in Chinese writing was very helpful.

I was a little hesitant to use a Chinese tour company, but Alex Guan provided a better itinerary at a better price than anyone else. He also answered all email queries immediately. The tour went off without a hitch. Alex accompanied us to ensure everything went smoothly, and he had arranged excellent guides and drivers in every city (Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin, Yangshuo, Hangzhou, and Shanghai). The hotels exceeded our expectations, and the meals he had arranged were superb. On top of all that, Alex is a great guy who we all really enjoyed getting to know.
