Getting There

By Air
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (ZHHH) is 16 km (10 miles) away from the city center. Flights from the main cities in China such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Kunming, Dalian, Harbin, Hohhot, Chongqing, Wuhan, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Guiyang, Xi’an, Hohhot, Guilin, Nanning, Sanya and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as from the international cities like Paris, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul can get to Shenzhen directly.

Air tickets can be booked in advance in hotels and ticket agencies in the city. Tickets are also available after working hours at the counter in the departure hall in the airport Waiting Building.

By Train
Wuhan locates the place with great transportation significance, where many railway lines go through, such as the Beijing – Guangzhou line, Wuchang – Jiujiang line and Hankou – Jiangdan line.

Wuhan Railway Station is a new-constructed station with 20 railways, 10 platforms and sophisticated facilities. Trains setting out here are almost bullet trains or high-speed trains traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, Yichang and Taiyuan. The bullet train from here to Guangzhou costs only 80 CNY and 1 hour.

Getting to Railway Station
Bus No. 234 (from Xinrong Village), 525 (Qunli Village), 540 ( from East Plaza in Wuchang Railway Station), 551 (from Wusheng Road Long-distance Bus Station), 610 ( from Hankou Railway Station), 643 (from Guanggu Plaza in Lumo Road) and 725 (from Tazi Lake Gym) can take you to the Wuhan Railway Station.

By Long Distance Bus
With the rapid development of road construction, China's highway mileage is second in the world with a total of over 30,000 kilometers (1864 miles). Overland buses are the most important means of transport in many parts of China. By 1999, over 1.35 million kilometers (840,000 miles) highway had been put into use. Compared to air and trains, buses are the cheapest means of transport.

By Boat
Hankou in Wuhan has been being the largest open trading port in land, which is hailed as the oriented Chicago. As one of the most important cities along the Yangtze River, Wuhan has commend of four modern ports, that is the Hannan Shamao Port, Yangsi Port, Wuhan Port and Yangluo Port, from where boats can take you to Shanghai, Chongqing and Three Gorges.

Getting Around

1. If your itinerary is over 7 km, you need to pay the equipment reposition charge, which should be 50% of all the fare.
2. Every time you take the cab, near or far, CNY 1 is required to pay as the BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor).
3. If there is any emergency you need to handle, the cab can wait for you, or if the cab goes at the pace less than 12 km/h; however, you need to pay the fare of 1 km for each 6 minutes. 

The ferries have been operation in Wuhan for over 100 years, which have been popular among this water city. There are 38 marinas and 50 passenger boats available along the three sail lines between Hanyang, Wuchang and Hankou.

Public Bus
Wuhan is furnished with a sophisticated bus system that is generally self-service ticketing. The fare is CNY 1 or CNY 2, so you need to prepare the coins or smackers of CNY. 

Light Rails
The No. 1 light rail in Wuhan has been operating since the year 2004, from 6:30 to 21:30. The ticket fare varies from the distance, that is 1.5 CNY for 4 stations, 2 CNY for 6, 2.5 for 8 and 3 for more than 10.
